The special thing about fang yuan is that  he doesn't change throughout the story. he is true to his self. Everything else ist just a byproduct of him chasing his one goal. He could die any moment and he wouldn't regrett a thing. Fang yuan defines the demonic path, staying true to one's self even in death.

That also why everything he does makes so much sense to us readers. The fact that we get to know his self early on, we get to expect him to behave like he does, as he doesn't change. We perfectly understand who Fang Yuan is and will be, and thus admire that part of him.

This novel is one of the classics, with legendary mechanic and lord of the mysteries, so it should be obvious this is a good read for many, right?

many anti-hero novels don't really have a truly heartless MC like this novel. Oh and the power system is pretty unique, instead of cultivating with weapons, you 'grow' your weapons as semi-living creatures/insects which means they can evolve, reproduce, or die. And that's pretty cool!

Love it, peak fiction, this novel drives us to question life and fang yuan, the mc presents his philosophy rather then asserting it onto us, the readers. He is probably my favorite mc in the WN industry, the world building is immaculate and the various characters make sensible and smart decision to the point where you are in awe of how much thought Gu Zhen ren has put into writing his Magnum Opus. Fang yuan rather then being the centerpiece of the entire Gu world is just like any other character as the world does not actively revolve around him, he instead needs to make tremendous effort showing his determination, perserverence (ofc) and resilience and imply various schemes to gain the upper hand from his opponents. I recommend this even if you don't like evil mc's as fang yuans journey is much more then that, you'll surely come to appreciate his character no matter how much you disagree with his actions. Also I hate you CCP, for banning RI.

Peak. You will never find a cultivation novel like this, the characters, world, power system, mc etc are some of the best I've ever seen. Only downside? You're gonna be unable to read mid novels after this

Refine gu, refine human, refine heaven itself. I got chills man. No novel can top this. It had such a realistic vibe to it even though it was fantasy

He will not give up! this guy is a mad man, an absolute devil, whatever it takes, he will pay it full price upfront!

I was a Neet when I read it and now years after, I've read dozens of the best novels , both chinese and normal and I have yet to find something that impacted as much as this novel did

The enemies in this novel are something else, everyone is shrewd, scheming, ruthless, everything is painted under dark shades of grey, there is no righteousness, no help me and I help you

In this novel, there is no friendship, no companionship, there is only Fang Yuan alone against the entire world trying to f*ck him over

Only something this extreme can give you the will to live!

Fang yuan is ruthless, torturing people, stealing, scheming, making others suffer, he is resolute, he doesn't back down nor does give up in despair

If someone suicidal came to me, all I would tell him was read this and see if you can die!

Fang Yuan has heart, he is also someone who was once weak, who lived through things and his poems elicit deep emotions in the readers making them understand him and love him despite all his cruel deeds that they do not agree with

How much would I rate this novel?

10 outta 10. I swear to god, this will make your heart flinch, cry, break, and sweat. you will probably need a doctor while you read this because I KNOW you cant, and you will not sleep. This novel haunts you in your dreams. Your depression? Gone. The moment you wake up, your inner monologue would be "Fang yuan! that Madman!" You probably never read anything with such philosophy and way of life that you see yourself slowly admiring him

This novel gives you a reason why being a NEET, no job, without friends, and being rich is the greatest dream of all time. Reading this novel will make you work harder and try harder in life. Actually, you'll like the main character so much that if you think you're too lazy to do something, you'd be thinking "i challenge myself cause i aint no p*ssy" after reading this. Read this. Like right now.

My #1 novel & what introduced me into the true essence and community of novels. If you're new to novels, I dont particularly suggest Reverend Insanity as it does have its issues due to translation, foreign concepts, and overall complexity. Another tip is, if your looking to read, dont fully rely on reviews or spoil yourself. MC is definitely top 3 OAT, and he's a new type of a protagonist to many readers.  Love RI and I'll always hold it as my #1.

Peak the mc is so well written that I want to go to the CCP and make them unban it , and the stories it has the fights it holds the philosophical questions and thinking he has it is on a real of its own , but it got some tiny gorry scenes so read it at your own risk.

But overall Perfect / Peak / Top 1 Novel in the History of literature / Masterpiece
