Best webnovel oat honestly the main character and side characters are all very well written there barely anything bad i can say its very good give it a try
This is easily one of the best webnovels of all time. It has my favorite protagonists of all time: Fang Yuan. The main character is very philisophical or something like that idk, but he has some of the best monologues I have ever read (like all of the poems, they're peak).
This novel is not for everyone though, seeing as the main character is quite cruel and is 100% a villain(and it is a villain done well, without being too edgy or commiting unnecessary cruelty). If you can get past all of the MC's cruelties and (some of) the fans' edgyness, it will defitely be worth your time.
This is truly a unique book. When I first interacted with it, I was simply looking for better fiction. But now after reading RI, it feels much more than mere literature, something that leaves a mark on you for the rest of your life.
The rights ->
✅️An evil protagonist that's done right, without coming off as edgy, cringe or attention- seeking.
✅️Side characters who have actually have depth.
✅️Lack of any forced romance with Fangy.
✅️Extremely detailed world building and history.
✅️A power system that is well rounded and is throughly explained.
✅️Doesn't hold back on making things difficult for Fangy.
✅️Doesn't hold back on gore.
The balance ->
☯️The world building may get lengthy at times.
☯️Some arcs feel stretched more than they should have.
☯️The occasional gore and cruelty may be too much for the ones new to it.
The wrongs ->
❌️Ironically, despite having some of the best SC's, their handling isn't always the best.
❌️I didn't like how BNB's potential was wasted for the majority of the book.
I can't believe you're expecting me to explain why I gave Reverend Insanity 5 stars. Well let me tell you, since tastes differ, I wouldn't dare tell you it's the best, but I can assure you that it's definitely among the best
Greatest piece of fiction just read it, world building charachters plot forshadowing evrything is just perfect, and when you reach the end you'll hate china
You will have a hard time finding anything better if you're wondering whether to read, trust me and just do it even if it might not become your favourite It'll still be one of the best pieces of fiction you'll ever read
Let’s start with the most glaring issue: the main character, Fang Yuan, is a one-dimensional sociopath with no meaningful development. He’s written as a 500-year-old cold-blooded cultivator who manipulates, kills, and betrays everyone around him — not out of necessity or complexity, but sheer nihilistic philosophy. His actions are glorified under the guise of "rationality," yet it becomes obvious early on that the author’s obsession with this “villain protagonist” archetype overrides any attempt at depth, nuance, or humanity. Instead of growth, we get repetitive monologues about fate, strength, and cold logic.
Peak novel which keeps getting better each arc especially after it reaches the 1000s. Would have given it a 5 if the novel has completed (got banned by ccp so incomplete ) and if sithor rewrites zombie arc (very long which author himself admitted)
Only read less than 300 chapters so far, but it's amazing. The main character has no cheat-lioe abilities, and he struggles constantly with various issues, losing important things left and right. He schemes as a master, yet even so his plans fall through and he is put in desperate situations.
Yo I recommend its good I'm gonna reread now, but after the my 3.5 rereads im gonna skip one of the arcs cause i fall asleep reading it usually.
