Peak, shameless mc, fun players, smart mc, only thing I have to say is that for some reason it got a little boring around ch 800-1000 (I forgot where) and the ending was a bit rushed.
Compared to other Chinese web novels, The Legendary Mechanic is quite good. It offers a refreshing mix of sci-fi and RPG elements, and while it leans heavily into game mechanics and futuristic tech, the early arcs are genuinely engaging. It has its ups and downs, but overall, I’d say it was a decent read for me. Then again, everyone has different tastes — you might like it, or you might not! But for me, it lost its charisma around Chapter 300.There wasn't much build-up for the Germinal Organization. The boss of the organization is introduced early on, and there’s no real mystique or layered progression around him. There are no secret ranks, codenames, or internal complexity — what could’ve been a shadowy villain organization felt flat, and their demise was kind of rushed! There’s no character development among players. Most of them feel like background decorations, present only to praise the protagonist, without any real personalities, rivalries, or growth. The interactions start to feel shallow and repetitive over time.
Don't know what to say except for the fact that you should read this. I am just here to give a 5 star rating. So yeah. That's my review. Why hasn't it hit 140 letters mark yet? Also yes this was copy pasted
Honestly one of the best novels I've read - the best of the "ended up in a game" subgenre.
all of the characters are well written aulthough some of the 'players' I feel are under utilised.
the ending, aulthough moderately complicated is well written and not dragged out aulthough an epilogue I think would have been both greatly appreciated and equally hilarious.
the story as a whole is well paced, the fights are well written, aulthough the whole damage sponge thing made some fights slightly drawn out (in my opinion) they were still entertaining.
the system elements are some of the best, if not the best implemented I've seen (the only ones that come close would be the primal hunter, Runeblade, shadow slave and potentially defiance of the fall aulthough I'm only some 500 chapters into the last one)
overall a phenomenal novel that is in my opinion rather under appreciated.

Now review
In general, sci-fi and cultivation webnovels have better world building than other genres.
Power system _100/10_ Up there with novels like Shadow Slave, the sheer number of classes and their detailing is insane.
Action scenes _ 100/10 _ are the novel's best part, with cool gunfights, mech fights, and grand scale space battles. The power system is put to excellent use.
Plot _ 9/10_ the plot of the novel is really unique, the concept of players and non-player characters was pioneered by this novel.
Now some flaw
Aside from the MC and his two girls, the majority of the side characters are simply background NPCs.
Ending _ felt rushed at the end
Inshort this novel is full on enjoyment , 5 stars from me
The main character experiences basically zero setbacks even up the chapter 150. He does everything perfect; basically instantly accepts his reality without any character development, and overall, is just a bland MC.
it was peak up until the final arc icl, it felt so rush and for how much they glazed the final boss, especially those kings, it was dissapointing how weak they were, and part about all s grades being full on immortals felt extremely fucking stupid. they couldve made it so its that its a one time chance but no they didnt. so what was the point of being X grade? x grade makes it so you can revive after dying but isnt really a point, well it makes you like 100x stronger but like yeah, extremely stupid how they just turned immortal.
Best' of the best 😃 best in genre, great power progression
Ending a little bit rushed rest all fine , great side character, great villians
