Just pure peak. Best novel I've ever read. The world building is immaculate, nothing feels sudden or out of place. It's just generally and genuinely amazing.

Serious, intelligent, complex, rich...

one cannot not get immersed in it whether it's cause of complex characters or mysteries and world building. So many anchors in the story from the MC to the background characters to the weekly Tarot Club that you will be literally counting the days for. Simply a masterpiece.

This is the BEST webnovel created. Ever. And it's not even a contest. It's so good that it can compete with published works written by accomplished authors. For a webnovel, that's absolutely insane. Writing chapters everyday with this good of a quality is actually illegal. Insane plot, realistic characters (no "NPC's"), beautiful descriptions, it will make you stay up at night just to keep reading. Some people say volume one is slow, but I thought the pacing was fine, so judge for yourself.

From the very first chapter, LOTM grabs you with its immersive world-building and refuses to let go. Set in a Lovecraftian-Victorian steampunk world fused with cosmic horror, secret organizations, and alchemical mysticism, the setting feels richly textured and alive. Cuttlefish That Loves Diving doesn’t just throw random fantasy elements together — every concept, from the 22 Sequences to the hidden deities, is carefully layered, foreshadowed, and paid off. The lore is deep but never overwhelming, and the world evolves with the plot, not just around it.

At the center of this masterpiece is Klein Moretti, one of the most well-written protagonists in web fiction. He starts as a curious, slightly naive scholar, and gradually transforms into the enigmatic Fool — a godlike figure pulling the strings of the world. His journey is emotional, logical, terrifying, and awe-inspiring. Importantly, he grows. Every choice, every loss, and every revelation adds to his depth. Unlike typical protagonists, Klein is both relatable and epic — a balance few authors ever manage to strike.

The side characters are just as compelling. Audrey, Fors, Alger, and even minor characters have strong personal arcs and motivations. They don’t exist to prop up Klein — they have lives, secrets, and growth of their own. Their interactions through the Tarot Club meetings are some of the most unique and satisfying scenes in the novel — subtle, layered, and dripping with tension and intrigue.

Plot-wise, LOTM is a masterclass in slow-burn storytelling. Foreshadowing is everywhere, and nothing is wasted. Seemingly small moments in early chapters become critical a thousand chapters later. Every arc ends with a twist that makes you look back and realize the clues were right there. The horror, suspense, politics, and action are all in perfect balance. It’s never predictable, yet never unfair.

Finally, the prose itself is excellent — elegant, controlled, and atmospheric. The philosophical themes — identity, destiny, power, madness — are handled with intelligence and restraint.

LOTM doesn’t just tell a story. It builds a universe, tears it apart, and reshapes it before your eyes. That’s what makes it peak fiction.

Lotm is, without a doubt, the greatest novel I’ve ever read. The worldbuilding is insanely deep and the power system is pure genius. No other novel even comes close everything else just feels mid after experiencing LOTM.  I’ve never been so hooked on a story before. It completely ruined other web novels for me because now my standards are too high. I love LOTM with my whole soul. Nothing compares. Absolute peak. LOTM is king.

“The Fool that does not belong to this era;

You are the mysterious ruler above the gray fog;

You are the king of yellow and black who wields good luck.”

Among amateurish novels written without any setting or other references, this novel stands out as seemingly professionally written, composed by half of Alice.
